LDI
Laser for Deterrence and Interception

GEIM, a company specialized in the supply of defense and security equipments, has designed high-power non-lethal lasers for deterrence and interception of potential threats. Many countries and organizations have equipped themselves with our lasers.

Technology

The LDI laser integrates the latest laser and beam shaping technologies which give the LDI its particularly innovative character, both in terms of power and efficiency. The latest generation lens guarantees increased resistance to maritime and military environmental constraints compared to current technologies.

The high level of technology as well as the overall mastery of the product allows GEIM to produce a deterrent and intervention laser integrating an active eye safety system.

The LDI is a portable, fully autonomous powerful green laser. It currently has the longest effective non-lethal range (>500m) in terms of deterrence

Scopes
of application

Military security

The LDI is useful and used at access points to air and naval bases, military camps in areas of operations (FOB). It can be used to mark, warn, dazzle and discriminate a vehicle arriving at the check point..

Maritime and port security

The LDI is used to constrain, mark, dazzle and deter any asymmetric threat approaching or heading towards a naval base, a sensitive port, a ship, an offshore platform but also during control of economic zones (EEZ) by guards -coasts and the National Navy as part of the fight against maritime piracy and asymmetric threats.

LDI provides recognized added value, effective day and night, and complies with international rules of use which impose a graduated response to a threat once categorized and confirmed.

Public security

LDI is used for the protection of public buildings, presidential palaces, ministries, etc. for crowd management, marking groups of suspicious or hostile individuals, designating regrouping points or guiding a crowd to an evacuation point during events or disturbances...

Oil and Gas platforms

The LDI is used to constrain, mark, dazzle and deter any asymmetric threat approaching or heading towards the platform, an oil terminal (FPSO), etc.
It makes it possible to discriminate whether it is a real threat or the presence of non-hostile boats based on their reactions to injunction messages. It thus helps to guarantee graduated responses to potential threats to the sensitive site.

Commercial shipping and cruising

LDI is used to constrain, mark, dazzle and deter any asymmetric threat approaching or en route to a commercial or cruise ship.
It makes it possible to discriminate whether it is a real threat or the presence of non-hostile boats based on their reactions to command messages. It thus helps to guarantee graduated responses to potential threats weighing on the ship.

Bird risk at airports

Bird risk on airports refers to the risk of collision between aircraft (planes, helicopters) and birds.
These collisions can have serious consequences, ranging from material damage to aircraft to serious accidents endangering the lives of passengers and crew. Birds can damage aircraft engines, cockpit windows and other essential parts of the aircraft, which can compromise flight safety.

The LDI laser is a solution that reduces this risk with the possibility for staff to scare birds by dazzling them from a long distance without ocular risks for the animals.
